Product Updates

Efficient access to full-text articles is important and Elsevier is taking steps towards offering additional access and product format options. For research professionals at your library or institution, this means that title content included in your ScienceDirect license agreement is now recognized when visiting articles on Elsevier published journal branded sites and mobile apps.

For example:
•    TheLancet.com and The Lancet iTunes Reader Mobile App

The Lancet iTunes image

•    Cell.com and the Cell Press Android Google Play Mobile Reader App

In addition, numerous prominent society journal sites are also recognizing your ScienceDirect content entitlements.  An example of this would be the GastroJournal.org website which Elsevier operates on behalf of The American Gastroenterologist Association for their members.

Library and information staff play an important role in extending this message to the researchers and those who depend on these journals for their work. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these new access choices and spread the word about their availability. ScienceDirect customers will begin to see enhancements to their COUNTER usage reports that reflect download activity happening at the Elsevier journal branded sites and mobile apps.

Usage from journal-specific sites and apps are now consolidated into ScienceDirect License COUNTER Usage Reports as demonstrated in the image below.
